Green & Black’s Organic Launch New Flavours In Canada
 
Ingredients
  • Tart Shell
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, room temperature
  • 2 cups all purpose flour
  • ¾ tsp salt
  • 4 tbsp ice water
  • Tart Filling
  • 1 ¼ cup 35% whipping cream
  • 250 g Green & Black’s Organic Burnt Toffee Chocolate, chopped
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 cups smooth peanut butter
Instructions
  1. Preheat oven to 350°F/177°C.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cut flour into butter.
  3. Add salt and water, mix until dough forms, being careful not to overwork the dough.
  4. On a floured surface, roll out dough to fit a 9-inch tart pan.
  5. Place rolled dough in tart pan, pressing up sides of pan.
  6. Place sheet of parchment paper over dough and cover with a layer of dried beans or rice.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes, until edges of shell are barely golden and bottom has started to cook.
  8. Remove beans or rice and parchment. Let cool completely.
  9. Over medium heat, bring whipping cream to a boil.
  10. Remove from heat.
  11. Add chocolate, vanilla and salt. Stir until completely incorporated.
  12. In a stainless steel bowl, lightly beat eggs.
  13. Slowly whisk in half of chocolate mixture to temper eggs.
  14. Add egg mixture to the remaining chocolate mixture and whisk lightly to combine.
  15. Preheat oven to 350°F/177°C.
  16. Carefully spread peanut butter across bottom of cooled shell.
  17. Pour chocolate mixture into shell to fill.
  18. Bake for 20-30 minutes, until filling starts to set but center is still jiggly.
  19. Let cool completely.
