As I type this, my daughter and husband are creating a massive barnyard using the new Moon Dough Barn we were sent by Team Mom to review! We received the Moon Dough Barn just a few days ago and it’s now a daily project that is pulled out. I had never heard of Moon Dough before (but was vaguely familiar with Moon Sand) so I was curious to see what it was all about.
Three of the most important features of Moon Dough is that it will never try out (unlike some other molding products which can get crusty after awhile), it’s hypo-allergenic, and wheat-free (both important points for children with allergies or gluten sensitivity).
The Moon Dough Barn comes with everything you need – a mat to stage your designs on, the barn itself of course, hay bale and fence molds and 3 bags of Moon Dough to get you started. Nevaeh was curious to see how her dad was going to create her barnyard animals, using a mold at the top of the barn that you crank the Moon Dough through. Once they played for awhile she was able to figure it out for herself.
Clean up is easy – you can use a larger piece of Moon Dough to dab up the smaller pieces – then you can store it in a resealable bag until next time. One caveat, I noticed a different smell from the Moon Dough than I’m used to. It’s a stronger scent, though not offensive, just “different”. I think I was the only one that took note – my daughter wasn’t concerned at all.
The Moon Dough website has a list of stores where you can purchase it, including some of our favorites like Toys R Us and Walmart!
Thanks to Team Mom for providing us with the Moon Dough Barn for review!
