Having a chat with Teri Fikowski at Global Regina this morning, we agreed on a basic premise for New Years resolutions: Wait until after January 7th to figure it out. Until then, you’re in a flurry of holiday gatherings, NYE parties and trying to remember what day of the week it is. After that first week of January, you have time to decompress, look around at the aftermath of the holidays, and decide how to proceed moving forward.
In early December, I shared a blog post about my plans with AdvoCare’s 24-day Jumpstart. What is the 24-Day Jumpstart? It’s described on the website as a comprehensive supplementation and nutrition program designed to give your body the jumpstart it needs to help you reach your goals. There’s something for everyone – whether you are looking for weight management, energy, overall body composition or overall wellness. I like this approach – AdvoCare isn’t about crazy-fast weightloss or unattainable structured dieting or bulking meal plans, it’s about giving you the tools you need to focus on your goals, for you.

Today I shared AdvoCare as one of my “take a look” tips for your resolutions in 2019. I highlighted what many of us already know – when it comes to nutrition and wellness and what it means to your life, it’s not one-size-fits-all. We have to do what works for us in our lifestyle, and the best approach is baby steps and a solid plan for improvement.
The AdvoCare 24-Day Jumpstart, as I described it in the video above, is much like a control-alt-delete for your body, just like we do to re-start our computers. It’s a great way to focus in on your nutrition and wellness and then reassess what steps to take next. Doing this in December ensured I didn’t go crazy on all the holiday treats at gatherings, but also allowed me to indulge on my favorites without any strict “allow this/ban that” thinking. My goal in December was simply to maintain my weight and not only did I do that, I dropped 2 pounds because of it.
