KiiPix Smartphone Picture Printer Review

When was the last time you printed photos and actually put them in a photo album? It’s a practice of another time, something families simply don’t do anymore. As much as I love all the photos of my kids, they don’t go much further than my phone. We do yearly family photos and those get put in frames and on our walls, thank goodness, but other than that – it just doesn’t happen. Ahead of a trip for my husband and I this week to England, the KiiPix Smartphone Picture Printer arrived at our door to review which was perfect timing! I printed a few cute photos from my phone to use as bookmarks while we travel!

Available in stores at Toys R Us in Canada ($49.99) or online at Amazon.ca ($51.99), this mini wonder prints photos right from your smart phone onto cute little Fujifilm Instax Mini instant film (sold separately). It folds compact and is super light making it a fun take-along for travel or everyday adventures.

Using the KiiPix Smartphone Picture Printer is easy – so easy that my 10 and 7 year old daughters took to it quite quickly, and I’ve already ordered more film. You simply place your phone (at optimal brightness, we learned we should have read this in the instructions first) face down and then click the exposure button to take the photo. Then turn the dial on the side to roll out the photo and watch it develop before your eyes!

The photos are a photo of a photo essentially, so the quality is what you’d expect. However, for kids wanting photos of their friends or the catapillar pet they had all summer, or for a mom to create bookmarks to take on her holiday, it’s great. This is also a great gift idea for birthdays and the holidays for that hard to buy for tween – just remember that they’ll need extra film too!

I have another KiiPix Smartphone Picture Printer set aside for one lucky reader! To enter, simply fill in your name and email address in the form below and click BEGIN. Then leave a comment on this post telling me what you would use your printed photos for – decor? A keepsake in your wallet? Bookmarks like me? Or another great idea?
