Seize The Summer With Travelocity.ca!

Summer is here and while we’d love for time to slow down, many of us are stunned that it’s mid-July already!  When July 1st hit I was asking myself, “How did that happen?”

I certainly don’t want to be saying the same thing on September 1st – I want to ensure we get as much out of our summer as we can, knowing that our winters (especially out here in western Canada) are long and cold!  I’m not even satisfied with lower 20 temps, as evidenced by my tweet today that my weatherman friend @StanfieldGlobal replied to.  See – we’re trying our hardest for hot temps, and long summer days and nights.  Bring it, summer!

To celebrate summer, our family is taking a few family road trips over the next six weeks!  Thanks to Travelocity.ca, we are going to be visiting Edmonton, Alberta next week – staying in a Good Buy hotel booked through Travelocity.ca!  We’re going to visit friends, and of course check out West Edmonton Mall and the WEM World Waterpark (with the world’s largest indoor wave pool and 17 waterslides to keep us busy!)  Then, later in August we’re going to visit Regina, SK to get in a ton of visiting time with friends, visit the RCMP Heritage Centre and of course relax by the pool at a Good Buy hotel booked through Travelocity.ca.

You can follow all our #SeizeTheSummer adventures with that hashtag on Twitter (and now on Facebook) – maybe the Travelocity Gnome will even make an appearance?

What are you doing to seize the summer?  Do you use Travelocity.ca already to book  your hotels, flights and adventures?  I only started using it within the past 6 months or so (I was under a rock, covered by a gnome apparently) and so far I’ve been loving the ease of use, the attention to detail (everything is easy to access on the site and confirmation info is easy to email to yourself or friends) and of course, the prices!

More about those prices – I have a special discount code just for my readers to use this summer!

  • Oh, sometimes I wish I had the time and the money to take off for a week with my partner. Maybe in a few years!

  • Oh I look forward to seeing your adventures this summer! We plan on camping LOTS, we just bought a new camper and have used it 3 weekends already. We are planning on making a couple trips to Regina, then down south to Manor Saskatchewan. I would love to maybe go out to BC this summer too, but we will have to see!

  • Looks like fun to me! We won’t be going too far from home with a newborn but it will still be a summer to remember. 🙂

  • We don’t have any set plans this summer. My husband will take a week off in August and we plan on touring some nearby cities.

  • Looking forward to hearing about your summer adventures. This summer, we’re doing a staycation, although I’m itching to get away though!

  • Sounds like a ton of fun. I love road trips. Such a great way to spend the summer. I look forward to reading all about them!

  • We always loved going on Road Trip vacations when we were younger and I always wanted to be able to have the same experiences with my kids. With the price of gas I think that may almost be impossible. Thank god for services like this that make it a little more affordable by getting you good deals on hotels!

  • I am sure your family will have a great time at WEM. Took my girls there a few times while living in Calgary, before we moved to Ontario. We miss it! Have fun!

  • I would love a vacation and would love to be able to take my daughter and Mum far away from here for even just a week…they both deserve a huge vacation!

  • Welcome to Edmonton Tenille, would love to meet you but know you are busy, what a great way to see Canada.

  • When we hit the trails in 2 weeks I will make sure to check out travelocity.ca for some great rates on hotels.
    Thanks little guy

  • Love to travel across Canada, need some more money for that though, we might get a few days in St. John’s later in the year

  • I was recently laid off from my job so we’re mostly having a staycation this year, although we do go camping and we love the beach…always stuff to do around our own city. I bet you’ll have a blast on your vacation, look forward to seeing pics!!

  • Awesome fun for sure. We are building a screen house, staining our deck and have a family bbq this summer. Will definitely check this out Cause we will be doing some travelling in the Fall. Not sure where but we are going somewhere. 🙂

  • Yay!! Thanks for the code! I will be using it for an upcoming trip to St. John’s and for a 2 night stay my price will go from $320.74 to $288.67! Awesome!

  • We have used Travelocity many times and love it. We’ve always been satisified with our savings and ease of planning thanks to that site. This summer we are doing more local stuff.. Daddy & daughter however are planning a trip to Ohio to see Gramma & Grampa. For health reasons I’ll be staying home.

  • Sounds like a great time. I love Travelocity because I can shop for the lowest price. This summer, however, we are staying home with the exception of a visit to the in-laws and a day trip in the area 🙂

  • We don’t have exciting plans this summer, but when we went travelling last summer, we used travelocity for all our trips!

  • no trips this summer as a new babe is due, but in the future I will check out travelocity!

  • This summer has and will continue to involve a stay-cation. But I use sites such as Travelocity to get the best deal for when I do need to plan a trip.

  • That is a great offer thank you. Nice that school has began
But i think one last trip will be good for the kids, and my self.lol
