Because Artscow.com is a new company, they are constantly testing out their new products, using their customers as their testers. In order to get enough product through their machines and to accurately test their quality, they offer incentives to try out a new product with free shipping.
Right now, they are offering the first 1000 customers who try it, a free customizable calendar with $7.99 shipping. The program to make the calendars is the same one used to make the photobooks so you can choose your own backgrounds, how many pictures per page, and even what month to start it.
I have made calendars from both Future Shop (nice, but limited choice in backgrounds and only 1 picture per page) and Walmart (crappy paper, no background choice, 1 picture per page) and from what I can tell these ones are far superior (and free!).
