Oh My Goodness It’s 2018

This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of Goldfish Crackers. All opinions are 100% mine.

I know I’m not alone when I realize that, just a moment ago, I was planning my resolutions, goals and focus for 2017 and then I blinked and here we are in 2018. I think once the kids go back to school the calendar goes into fast-forward mode and then we land upside down – a little bit tussled and a little bit tired – in January a little unsure how we got here.

Time to focus! Resolutions are one thing, take ‘em or leave ‘em, but one thing I do every January is figure out a focus. Last year it was to work on maintaining my weight loss and exercise more. No set # goals and no deadline. This year, I want to definitely cook more and depend on take-out less. I want to ensure that the whole family is getting a balanced menu through the week and yes that goes back to my nemesis: meal planning. I can’t seem to get a good grip on it but I keep trying!

One way to stay on task throughout the day, whether you’re looking at maintaining a weight loss or simply ensuring you’re not ravenous by the time dinner comes and more likely to reach for the phone to order take-out, is to have healthy snacks on hand. Fresh fruit and vegetables make a great mid-afternoon or after school snack, though that gets tricky in January when we’re in Saskatchewan and nothing is in season! Put the sugar-filled cookies on the top shelf in the pantry and instead try things like crackers and cheese, canned fruit (no syrup if you can avoid it) and celery and hummus to fill you up.

Another pantry staple for great anytime snacking is Goldfish Crackers. Always baked, never fried, these smiling little guys are made with no artificial colours or flavours. In fact, the Goldfish Crackers’ Colours are sourced from plants!

Did you know that Green Goldfish crackers come from watermelon and huito juice concentrates mixed with extracted tumeric. That’s huito. Pronounced wee-toe. Colourful and fun to say! Weeeeee toe! Orange Goldfish crackers use annatto extracted from the seed of the achiote tree

This one is fun: Red Goldfish crackers are coloured using a mix of beet juice concentrate and paprika extracted from sweet red peppers. Wholesome & colourful. You can’t beet that kind of goodness – plus you can then show your kids a beet and see their faces when you explain that this is truly an example of goodness coming from the inside (poor beets, it’s what’s inside that counts, you grumpy looking root vegetable you!)

No artificial colours or flavours and low in saturated fat, it’s no surprise little Goldfish Crackers are always smiling, with that kind of snack-super-power inside them.

Goldfish Crackers also has a little something to help winter days go by faster but it’s only available for a limited time. Goldfish Limited Edition Playing Cards will help provide hours of fun and if you don’t play GO FISH as the very first card game with them, I just don’t know what!
