Kid Tech From VTech

The end of summer doesn’t mean the end of fun – our beautiful September weather so far has given us ample opportunity to be out and about and enjoy our free time ahead of the winter sure to come. For about the past month or so, my girls have been testing out some super fun kid-tech items from VTech, and they haven’t lost their appeal or interest even with a return to class and friends. You know how it is, you buy something that you think will be awesome and the kids wander away from it after a few days – how frustrating. Both items from VTech have held their interest throughout the summer and now back to school, and it’s time to share them with you (giveaway at the bottom, woo!)

The VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX2 has the ability to let kids take pictures, videos, play games, tell time and more! I was really impressed with the amount of “stuff” the girls could do on their smartwatch: it includes 55 digital and analog
customizable watch faces to help kids learn to tell time and two cameras that allow your child to capture everything from action video to selfies that can be customized in the Silly Me app (think Snapchat filters without the ugh that everything else with Snapchat comes with).

The graphics are awesome (we’ll worry about AM and PM later, lol!) and one of the girls’ favorite game is a new one, Monster Detector, which uses the camera and augmented reality to help kids find and capture monsters in the real world like Pokemon Go.

The watch also counts steps, which is a fun way to compete with each other I learned! The battery is easily recharged with the included micro USB cable while the girls are sleeping, and ready to go in the morning.

The Kidizoom® Action Cam 180 was the perfect summer addition to my girls’ imaginary YouTube channel, which by the way has more subscribers than my (real) one, just so you know. They are constantly making videos on the Kidizoom® Action Cam 180 for their pretend channel, and I love it! They create, watch, delete or save and continue on to their next adventure.

The 180 degree rotatable camera lets you take photos and selfies, plus shoot videos with fun features like slow and fast-motion which is what the girls do at home. Then, you can use the included accessories to mount the camera to your bike, skateboard and more while taking great action shots anytime, anywhere. Add the all-weather, water-resistant case for use up to six feet underwater (we haven’t tried this one yet!)

Look for the VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX2 and Kidizoom Action Cam 180 at places like Amazon.ca, Toys “R” Us, HBC, Indigo, Mastermind Toys, and Walmart at a suggested retail price of $69.99 for the Kidizoom Smart Watch DX2 and $59.99 for the Kidizoom Action Cam 180.

One of our readers is going to win a VTech Kidizoom Smartwatch DX2 in their choice of either pink or blue! Simply fill in your name and email address in the form below to get started!
