It’s Officially Jeans Season

The other night, I was talking with my husband – complaining about the ridiculous amount of laundry a household of five can accumulate – and I noted that I couldn’t remember the last time I’d worn socks (which also is an admission to all of you on how long it’s been since I’ve gone for a morning run!) It’s funny though, don’t you think? Summer months mean no socks, shorts every day (shaving, ugh!), and yes, flip flops and sandals for the most part.

With the calendar almost ready to flip over to September, the socks will soon be back out – surely for the kids at school – and we all get the fun of trying on our jeans again to see if they still fit after a summer of deck parties and oh yes, sangria (fruit salad, I call it). I love the fall months – skinny jeans, a cozy sweater or cute long sleeve shirt, and yes, socks and boots. I’m already partway there thanks to Mark’s BOGO sale on all their denim – including Silver Jeans.

I love Silver jeans, and while there are some amazing brands also available at Mark’s, Silver brand is my favorite because they fit me the best. Since losing 27 pounds in the past year (have I mentioned that? A few times? Ha!) I’ve discovered that my previous size was actually a comfortable size in terms of clothing – now, it’s harder to find pants that fit my frame and many jeans are simply too big. I appreciate that Silver offers jeans in a huge range of sizes allowing women of all shapes and sizes to look fabulous in their denim. Above: Silver Jeans Co. Elyse Mid-Rise Straight ($114) paired with a gorgeous Denver Hayes 3/4 Sleeve Cold-Shoulder Shirt $44.99 (hooray for this trend taking us into fall styles as well!)

The second pair of jeans I bought (BOGO 50% off!) are – of course Silver Jeans Co – Suki Mid Slim Jeans ($102). The Elyse and Suki styles fit differently, so you may (like I did) need to adjust your size when going from one style to the other. Suki is a slimmer fit whereas Elyse has a little more curve-appeal. I love the “light indigo” colour of these jeans, so different from my usual dark-wash, but so on trend too! Now, my regrets. I regret not purchasing the DH3 Long Sleeve Cold-Shoulder Mock Neck Sweater ($54.99) I tried on! I sent this photo to both my husband and a friend commenting that it was exactly like a sweater I had in 1992 and they both told me to get it! The problem is that I was already back home when I sent the photo – regrets!! I still hope to get back to Mark’s this month to pick it up!

New fall styles are arriving at Mark’s every day, so if you haven’t visited lately – pop by and see what’s new in store or take a look online. Though, as testament in the above photo, you really need to try on a style to see how amazing it is. Just don’t leave it behind like I did!
