The Save-On-Foods Kitchen {Your Bonus Kitchen!}

Being a busy mom of three, I don’t at all think I’ve ever got things fully figured out. Looking ahead to back-to-school in September, with all three kids in school full time, I wondered aloud to my husband if this meant I’d finally have the time to make dinner five nights a week (let’s give mom a break on the weekends!) He, in turn, wondered aloud if that would really happen, and we both agreed that we’d have to be realistic. Life gets busy, things come up, and the best intentions sometimes fall to the side in favour of what’s quick and easy.

If your family, like mine, finds that they’re ordering take-out more often than their bank account or waistlines would like, you’ll be happy to hear about the Save-On-Foods Kitchen waiting for you in the new stores here in Saskatchewan (Yorkton and Saskatoon) as well as, of course, all Save-On-Foods locations.

Save-On-Foods has a huge kitchen on site and the employees are busy at work making a large variety of fresh foods for a quick lunch or to help your dinner prep tonight. Perhaps the most talked about and therefore well known aspect of the Save-On-Foods Kitchen is the Wing Bar! With a variety of over 16 types of wings, there’s always an easy go-to item waiting for watching the game or a quick appetizer to keep the kids happy while prepping dinner (my favourite is dill pickle wings!)

You can also find authentic hand-stretched pizza – Napoli style – made fresh in store – ready hot or ready to bake) along with side-dishes and more, all hot and ready to go.

Of course, there’s also a selection of other delicious mealtime favorites like salads, soups and fresh made in store sushi.

Forgot to make lunch before day-camp this summer? You can easily slip into Save-On-Foods for fresh-made sandwiches, along with individual servings of fruit, and perhaps a yogurt parfait – lunch truly made easy!

Here’s something unique at Save-On-Foods that’s worth pointing out so you catch it in the flyer, in-store or online; Save-On-Foods Fresh Solutions. Every week you’ll find a new family-friendly recipe and everything you need to make it waiting for you in store.

This week, while vacationing at my sister’s in Okotoks, Alberta (where there’s another brand new Save-On-Foods store!) we saw the Fresh Solutions recipe for Blueberry Energy Balls and headed out to the store to pick up everything we needed to make it ahead of a day at the beach, followed by a trip to a family amusement park the day after that. Perfect!

Look for new recipes every week in store, in the flyer and online, on the Save-On-Foods app or follow Save-On-Foods on Facebook for recipe links and handy videos! You can also browse all of the past Fresh Solutions recipes here: www.saveonfoods.com/recipes
