Welcome to Canada’s Home

If you follow my Instagram Stories (and if you don’t, why not?!) you know that earlier this month I was in Ottawa – my first visit ever – being a tourist and visiting some landmarks in the city. You also may have seen my visit to Canada’s Home in Chelsea, Quebec for a delightful dinner event hosted by This Hour Has 22 Minutes comedic genius Cathy Jones.

We know that for generations, Maytag® has stood for durability, reliability and power. The brand wanted to showcase their commitment to dependability by launching Canada’s Home, a gorgeous residence showcasing Maytag appliances and unique Canadian decor perfect for every family. In fact, this home was recently part of a contest with Maytag® where a family could win a stay in the home over the July 1st Canada 150 celebrations – how cool is that?

Bloggers visited and relaxed in Canada’s Home, while indulging in delicious Canadian themed drinks and food all while learning about the Maytag® appliances.

We also had the opportunity to help in the kitchen with the chef while he prepared our outstanding meal. This was our group before we got started on our task.

With everything Maytag® close at hand, how could it not be a success? Products showcased in the kitchen included:

Four-Door Refrigerator:

o PowerCold™: Refrigerator feature that chills the refrigerator compartments quickly—even if the whole family has been browsing with the door open.

Front-Control Range:

o Power Preheat: The Front-Control Range with Power Preheat lets you enjoy your dinner faster* with juicy flavours every time.

Top Control Pocket Handle Dishwasher:

o Power Blast™ Cycle: Dishwasher removes stuck-on food with high pressure spray jets, increased temperature and hot steam to finish the job.

It’s worth mentioning that there’s fingerprint-resistant stainless steel on all new Maytag® kitchen appliances which means they can handle anything you throw at them – especially important in a house like mine with 5 people and a dog!

In the laundry room, we found:

Extra-Large Capacity Top Load Large Washer

o PowerWash® system removes everyday tough stains in a single wash delivering the Best Cleaning in the industry*

o It has extra-large capacity with 7.1 cubic feet. Standard washers are between 4 and 5 cubic feet. This means it can take on the fluffiest duvets and most odorous gym bags.

Extra-Large Capacity Dryer

o PowerDry System dries tough loads faster and evenly* with the PowerDry Cycle, Advanced Moisture Sensing with an industry-exclusive extra moisture sensor, and an extra interior fin to keep clothes moving for effective drying.

o Steam Refresh uses a fine mist in the heated dryer drum to relax wrinkles and revive clothes without washing.

o Extra-large capacity is designed to tackle the largest loads and powerful enough to move mountains of laundry. With 9.2 cu. ft., it has the space to dry 26 towels at once.

I actually own a Maytag® Bravos HE Washer and Dryer so I know first-hand how amazing these products are. We had a set that came with this house when we purchased it three years ago, and there was no way I was going to manage a household with 5 people and a dog doing laundry in a set from another brand. No way, Jose! Off to the Maytag® store I went and happily had my new set within a week.

Our Prime Minister’s official residence is in need of drastic repair, but I know a brand that can outfit even our top office’s home with high efficient appliances for their busy family too. I wonder if they’ve considered Canada’s home? In any case, we christened it with a party of influencers and of course, Canadian beauty, Cathy Jones. We’re also available for any Prime Ministerial duties involving wine and good food. We should all do our civic duty, right?

Whirlpool has compensated me for my services and my posts, but all posts represent my own opinion.

As a family that hasn’t had the need, funds, time, etc.. to start updating our appliances, I would be lost in the world of shopping for them right now. I think our first need will be the washer. What a great concept and a great part of Canada to have the house in.
