Giveaways and Reviews

1 Year Supply of Arm & Hammer Laundry Detergent Giveaway

Of the household chores I enjoy the most, laundry is at the top of the list. I barred my husband from doing laundry years ago, tired of shrunken shirts and darks washed with whites. It was probably a successful ploy all along, but I really don’t mind having the duty be all my own. I have a variety of products and like trying new things on the market, look for sales, and of course have a few favorites in my laundry product rotation. Still, if I can spend less time doing laundry, that’s always a bonus.

So, when approached by Arm & Hammer to see if I’d be interested in the Triple Chamber Challenge, I was curious. And when I learned more about the product I’d be trying, I enthusiastically said “Yes!” New Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean 3-IN-1 Power Paks! You see, Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean 3-IN-1 Power Paks are the only detergent boosted with the stain fighting power of OxiClean and the freshness of Arm & Hammer Baking Soda. With three busy, sweaty, and outdoor-spring-loving kids this is an attractive addition to ‘the usual’ laundry detergent.

AH Laundry Hacks

In the spring, my laundry turns from black, greys, and lots of denim to pastels and cotton pants. My detergent has to not only get out stains on light coloured fabric, there’s also a lot more ‘stuff’ getting into the clothes so having baking soda added in is smart thinking.

The Triple Chamber Challenge is not only to use 3 in 1 Power Paks tested on my laundry, but to do so for 3 months. 3 months during the spring when things get messy. And with two daughters that means a lot of pastels too. Yikes! But, knowing the trio of Arm & Hammer, OxiClean and Baking Soda was involved – I had faith!

At first blush, I learned quickly that Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean 3-IN-1 Power Paks have safety in mind as it took me a little bit to get the package open! You need to manipulate the red tab at the top by pushing it down, and zipping it across at the same time, to get the package open. This is important for families with young children who may mistake something squishy and colorful as something safe for them to touch. I really appreciate Arm & Hammer taking this concern into account when creating the packaging for their products.

Now that I’ve been using Arm & Hammer Plus OxiClean 3 IN-1 Power Paks for well over a month now, I can confidently say that this product stands up to all the springtime stains and laundry joys we challenge it with. Grass stains, food drips and drops, sweat from hours on the trampoline, and musty towels left on the floor – this product delivers an efficient clean every time.

Need some laundry hack reminders? Arm & Hammer has you covered:

My laundry sorter has been my biggest help with being the person responsible for laundry for a family of 5. The kids know which is which (we sort by towels, whites, dark colours and light colours) and it makes it much easier to just grab a laundry bag and go. Of course, I haven’t found a magical fairy to fold the laundry, but they are on task with putting away their own.

Thanks, Arm & Hammer for this fresh perspective on laundry! These tips will come in handy this spring.

What’s your laundry tip? Join in the discussion below (maybe we’ll all learn something new too!) and you will be entered to WIN a 1 YEAR SUPPLY OF ARM & HAMMER LAUNDRY DETERGENT! (OMG!)

  • My tip is to fold your laundry as you take it out of the dryer. This avoids wrinkles and makes it so easy to sort each family members clothes so they can just grab their pile of folded clothes and put them away.

  • I always sort my clothes, feel it’s super important, never knew about the aluminum ball or tennis ball, neat trick

  • My tip is to pretreat stains as soon as they happen if possible to help prevent them from setting in. I find the quicker you deal with them the better.

  • We always sort the laundry and use the recommended temperature . If using powered detergent put that in first so it mixes well then add the clothes Dont fill the machine too full or the laundry doesnt come clean. I always fold right away as I dont like wrinkles

  • I add vinegar to the wash cycle to get rid of odour and to keep dark colours dark! I also add vinegar to the rinse cycle to soften up towels! One more tip, I hang my whites outside as the Sun is a natural bleach! 🙂

  • My laundry tip is if you want to get the wrinkles out of a piece of clothing fast and don’t have time (or frankly just don’t want to) iron, put it in the dryer with an ice cube. It works pretty well!

  • My daughter is a big help folding laundry. We always do tip #6. She puts on her favorite tunes or watches Netflix while folding to make it less of a chore & that’s a big help for me year-round!

  • Putting socks in a mesh bag is a good tip. If I’m organised enough I’ll definitely try this.

  • My laundry tip is that if a stain hasn’t come out in the washing, don’t put it in the dryer as the stain will be permanently set. Wash until stain is removed.

  • I actually love Arm & Hammer laundry detergent. Especially the perfume-free, biodegradeable version that they make. I always sort my clothes and love the mesh bag idea!

  • I find that If I do a load each day – it seems less of a challenging task. I also ask my kids to help fold (I hate folding clothes).

  • The tip: add a tennis ball or aluminum foil ball to your dryer if you run out of dryer sheets. This is one I can definitely use. I sometimes run out.

  • I always let my husband do the laundry. He’s so good at it he washes clean clothes with such joy in his heart ❤️ 😂He drives me crazy with the laundry but at least I don’t have to do it. My laundry tip: outsource it 😉

  • I love washing almost everything in cold water, with specific cold water detergent, to save money. My favourite tip from the chart is about speeding up drying by putting a clean dry fluffy towel in the dryer – love the idea, will definitely try it (although I hang most of our laundry to dry, sometimes I need to use the dryer, normally when I need something in a hurry, so this will help me get things dry even faster when needed).

  • If you have a nasty stain on white that won’t come out, launder and then lay out in the sun. Has worked for me every time.

  • I love the idea of putting a tennis ball in the dryer when out of fabric softener! I never would have thought of that!

  • I love the one tip about the ball of tin foil in place of a dryer sheet to keep the static down-not sure I would want a big tennis ball in there though. that is a great tip for when I run out of dryer sheets. I wonder if it would be a permanent fix -foil would be less expensive than dryer sheets depending upon how large it has to be

  • My laundry tip is get someone else to do it..! Ok I just don’t like doing it. I hate folding laundry! Ughhh

  • Here’s a tip . Don’t waste your money on other detergents because Arm & Hammer works the best ! Also clean your washing machine every few months with a baking soda and vinegar rinse .

  • I like the tip about socks in a mesh bag….I am always losing socks…I always thought it was the sock gnomes.

  • I use tip #1 often. Adding in something dry is a great way to shorten the cycle time. Using dryer balls works really well too.

  • I like to sort as I throw things into laundry baskets. This makes it really quick and simple to do laundry.

  • I tried the aluminum foil tip, but the foil just shredded over time. My tip is get them out of the drier before the wrinkle.

  • My laundry tip is to put a dry towel or two in the dryer to help reduce drying time overall.

  • My laundry tip is “Teach your kids to do their laundry as soon as they are old enough!!!!”

  • When dealing with super tough oil stains (mechanic clothes), i add one of those dishwasher pods to the washer in addition to my regular washing detergent. Works like magic!

  • I like to keep a jar or a container by the washing machine so if I find anything in pockets, etc., I can just pop in there. It also makes it easy for family members to relocate missing things.

  • The tinfoil ball in the dryer is an awesome idea ! I cant use dryer sheets for my daughters clothes because of allergies and super sensitive skin so im going to try this for sure !

  • If you have a stain that does not want to come out try putting it in direct sunlight. It seems to lighten them. It also helps white clothes to stay white if you put them out in the sunshine.

  • I already do the tip in which we put our socks in a mesh bag before we wash them and we haven’t lost a sock in years

  • any time I have an ink spot I mix vinegar and milk together to make sour milk and rub it on the ink spot. It quickly disappear

  • My kids will get little grease stains on their clothes.. I put a dab of dish soap and kind of scrub it in with my mail then throw it in the laundry.. always comes out!

  • I never remember to check the recommended guidelines for washing and drying on the tags. I need to do this more often.

  • We always make sure we read the tags and launder them according to the instructions. Cold water also helps keep the fading at a minimum too.

  • I have to tell my sister about putting socks in a mesh bag. I was at her home in the winter and she had a basket full of socks. They weren’t pairs, they were socks that were missing their partners. I found it funny because I’ve never had a sock go missing. And she had a basket full. LOL

  • I will be using one of the tips from the sheet…the one where I wash socks in a mesh bag. This one is going to help a lot.

  • I love the put tennis ball in dryer to eliminate statics and keep clothes fluffy. I will give it a try this weekend

  • My tip is to have a separate hamper for each person to help you keep everything sorted…especially when it comes to socks!

  • I always have one load in ready to start on the timer when it turns 7 pm (and the power is cheaper). I throw it in the dryer before bed and fold in the morning when I throw in the next load and set the timer. Easy way to keep up with it!

  • I don’t let it pile up, when I have a full load I do it, and take it out of the dryer right away, I always wash clothes on cold water, to save energy. I like using the oxiclean in my whites it keeps them bright.

  • Great tips! I will use the idea of putting a tennis ball in the dryer to help fluff up my clothes!

  • My tip is to take and fold clothes out of the dryer right away. Keeps them from getting all wrinkled.

  • I like the tip about adding a tennis ball to the dryer to eliminate static electricity. I better wash it first after I steal it from the dog!!

  • My laundry tip is to keep on it. I have to do a load (at least one) every day. If i miss a day I get backed up and it seems like i’ll never catch up!

  • I’ve done the foil ball before and use cold water. I have baskets/hampers for like clothes that need washing and it saves on sorting.

  • ohh,the tennis ball or aluminum foil ball is a great idea! I will be using that great idea!!

  • I wash things by category. All shirts are together, jeans w/sweaters, all towels and wash clothes together. It makes it easier for me to throw them in the dryer and fold them after.

  • My best tip is to follow the laundry tag directions on the garment and to use to use a good detergent like Arm & Hammer laundry detergent to keep your clothes looking and smelling fresh and clean. 🙂

  • Wash your dirty clothes as soon as u can, waiting for laundry day will make the stain more permanent.

  • We have set laundry days. Usually Sunday, and now with soccer season, Mondays/Fridays. We sort, and have a fancy washing machine that has steam cycles which is a game changer! Never tried the Arm & Hammer packs, but my go-to brand of laundry detergent is the yellow Arm & Hammer liquid (we buy the huge ones at Costco)

  • Great tips!! I need a mesh bag for those darn socks!!! I really wonder where they go. like seriously, lol

  • I love the idea of putting fluffy dry clean towel in the dryer with wet clothes to get clothes dried quickly!

  • Throw a fluffy dry towel in the dryer with wet clothes to speed up drying.
I wish I knew this long ago.

  • Remember to turn on washer or dryer! ALSO dont leave for the weekend and forget that you a load in the washer….good luck getting that smell out!!
The biggest reason I need to win is that I have 4 TEENAGERS, 3 of them boys…..none are ALLOWED to do laundry because of crazy mishaps!

  • I’m going to use the tip of putting the tennis ball in the dryer to reduce static! I love that idea and that it uses something I already have.

  • I always sort clothes into darks and coloureds and I never let a stain sit since then it’s more difficult to remove.

  • With 4 young kids, laundry is always a battle! I’ve tried a few strategies, but so far the best is just to keep their wardrobes limited.
I sort by jeans, whites, fleece & active wear, towels and then everything else.

  • Hang whites on the clothes line to dry. It really does help them look “whiter”.
The little tabs on these bags got me too. It’s smart of them to make them childproof.

  • We use cold water on everything but towels and sheets. Easier on the clothes and saves money!

  • For us, esp myself, it was buy more clothes, because once the kids move out its hard to find enough laundry to do a load every day..and if you need those clothes you’re either gonna wear stinky clothes twice or buy more. I work in food manufacturing so I have leggings and sports bras and tank tops that I wear year round. I also wear some ugly yellow rubber slickers on top of that as well as a hair net and steel toed rubber boots..quite the fashion icon, I am….I clean the plant for a living (13yrs) SO for all you moms out there (And dads) that are doing laundry every day..that will stop once your children turn into adults and move out to discover life on their own.

  • Hairspray gets ink off of clothes…i have used it sooo many times. I don’t mind doing laundry it’s the putting it away that gets me.

  • Do a little bit of laundry at a time so it doesn’t stack up and look like a lot of work. Get the kids to help and they can sort and fold!

  • I use Dish Soap for Stain Remover – it’s cheaper and always on hand and works better than most laundry stain removers.

  • I have admit that I am not very good at laundry, but I do separate colors and darks from whites, but as a mother of two it’s something I do alot. One thing I learned is hair spray is great for getting ink out of clothes.

  • My laundry tip is to always read the labels on your clothes on how to wash/dry them!

  • I wash only things that go together (kids clothes in one load, hubbies clothes in one load, towels in one load), that way I go to one place to put away, and not have to go to room to room after.

  • Fold laundry as soon as it comes out of the dryer for less wrinkles. Also, If your clothes are wrinkly, throw them in the dryer for a few minutes. Taa daaaa

  • I sort into darks, lights, towels, sheets. No separate whites load, we really only have socks that are white.
The biggest obstacle I think some people make when it comes to laundry is trying to set aside time just for this task, you’ll never be on top of it. Throw in loads of wash when you walk by, then change over later that day. Fold everything when it’s done in the dryer, it can be a relaxing moment to regroup and settle your mind. i like folding, it gives me a “slow down” moment in my day.

  • I didn’t know you could use a tennis ball or a ball of aluminum foil in the dryer to control static clean. I will definitely be trying that.

  • I like the tip on adding a tennis ball or foil to the dryer to stop static and keep clothes fluffy.

  • Always check the pockets of all family members clothing before washing, you never know when there is a crayon or marker stuffed in a pocket.

  • I had heard of using aluminum foil but the tennis ball trick is new to me. I might have to give this a try.

  • Their tips will deffinitely come in hand especially the tip about putting a fluffy towel in the dryer to speed up drying. I usually separate our towels and jeans from the rest of the laundry since they seem to take the longest to dry.

  • This is the only brand of detergent that doesn’t make my husband’s skin itchy so winning would be great!

  • ARM & HAMMER™ Powder Laundry Detergents neutralize chlorine, found in wash water. This helps prevent premature fading.

  • The washing machine itself makes a difference. I like the ones without the arm that swishes in the middle of the bin. I find things don’t get tangled up as much with that type of machine and with a big sized bin, you can put one item that fills the whole bin comfortably instead of going to the dry cleaners for special things.

  • I am definitely going to try using aluminum foil in the dryer instead of dryer sheets! I hear they are not great for you! Thanks for the chance to win, what an awesome prize!
