Gift Guide

Don’t Forget The Batteries {And This Christmas Season, Choose Duracell!)

Throughout our holiday gift guide, we’ve been sharing some of the hottest toys of the season and highlighting all the features and fun things that make them a gift to covet. We’ve also tried to spare parents some Christmas morning stress by letting them know about ease of set up, additional parts needed, and of course a reminder to buy batteries since many toys don’t come with them. Few things are more frustrating on Christmas morning than not having enough batteries or the right size batteries for the new unwrapped toys.

furby connect blueTake, for example, all the crazy fun that could be missed (or delayed, while you’re stared down by a very upset child for your negligence) if you didn’t have batteries on hand when unwrapping one of THE hottest toys of the season – Furby Connect! I mentioned Furby Connect in a recent CJME Morning News interview when highlighting my picks for the hottest toys of the season. Yes, Furby is still at the top of gift lists and now he (she? it?) is definitely a trending item because of it’s ability to yes – connect – thanks to the Furby Connect World app.

999999-630509444007_2This little stinker (no, really, the Furby warns you when it’s about to fart, thankfully just the sound is all your family will endure) is full of lively sounds, furbish gibberish, and has huge expressive eyes that display more than 150 lively animations to help you understand exactly what it’s trying to say. Children interact with a Furby Connect friend by petting, tickling, or shaking Furby, turning it upside down, or even moving its antenna like a joystick. When the Furby Connect friend syncs with the Furby Connect World app, there are more physical and digital ways to interact and more surprises to discover.

Furby Connect will be ready to play with right out of the box on Christmas morning, provided you have 4 AAA batteries on hand. This is where the importance of choosing Duracell comes in, and here’s why…

Duracell believes in powering the imagination of sick children by helping to ensure kids can still be kids, and enjoy the magic of the season even in the midst of illness. Can you imagine having a little one in the hospital at any time, but even more so during the Christmas season? It’s just so wrong – Christmas is for children, and having a child so sick that they need hospital care during the holidays makes it all seem so unfair.

duracell batteries

For the 10th year in a row Duracell will be donating a year supply of batteries to hospital playrooms across the country to power smiles this holiday season and beyond! In addition to their annual battery donation to children’s hospitals across the country, Duracell has also made it super easy for Canadians everywhere to get involved.

All you have to do is purchase a pack of Duracell batteries at Walmart starting now until the end of December and they will donate to Children’s Miracle Network. It’s really that simple. The goal is to raise $150,000.

I hope you all keep this initiative in mind during the final days of shopping ahead of Christmas, and support it by purchasing Duracell batteries at Walmart.
