Skechers Back To School Giveaway

As I go through each item on my back to school shopping list, I inevitably save some for the end because – well, they’re the ones that take the most time and also involve the kids. If I can get away with purchasing most of the kid’s items without them beside me, that’s a bonus. Still, when it comes to those things at the end of my list like back to school shoes (typically two pairs, one for indoor and one for outdoor) I need the kid’s opinion. At 12, 8 and 5 they are less likely to just go with what I choose and more likely to decide that they no longer like a particular color and didn’t you know that already mom because I told you last week while discussing eighteen other dislikes <- my five year old.

An interesting note on my Kindergartener’s school supply list – the teacher asked that the shoes be non-lace shoes. I was surprised by this, knowing how tying one’s shoes is one of those early Kindergarten skills kids should master but then realized that I’m not a Kindergarten teacher with 25+ little kids under foot all trying in earnest to tie their new school shoes when it’s recess time. I get it, Kindergarten teacher – and I support you. There will be a time to ace tying laces I’m sure (P.S. If you haven’t seen this viral video with a super-easy technique for tying laces, you should check it out – it’s genius!)

My Kindergarten student’s choice for back to school is Skechers Burst – Illuminations shoes.
