“The bold, bright lip. It is something other girls can pull off… but not me.”
That was my attitude towards this current make-up trend – until now! Recently I was given the opportunity to try Arbonne’s Smoothed Over Lipstick ($34.00) in a shade called peony.
I pulled out the tube and opened it. The shade is an adorably vibrant “Barbie pink”. The girly girl in me immediately loved it. But could I wear it? I smoothed it over my lips and was pleasantly surprised. First off the lipstick feels velvety and moisturizing. Not sticky and waxy like the lipstick my mom used to put on me for dance recital (to this day I can still taste it, blah!) I let the colour sit for a few minutes and went back to the mirror. While the colour is bold and vibrant, I still felt like myself.
I tried it the next day at work (I am a news anchor) and even got a few compliments! People like a pop of colour, something unexpected, something different. This won’t be my everyday lip tone but it is definitely in the makeup bag for days I want to change it up!
My advice, just try it! You CAN pull it off!
