Every month as part of Disney’s Dream Big Princess campaign (which my girls point out whenever they spot a commercial on TV), we’re treated to a new Disney Princess through toys, and information highlighting why the Princess is certainly someone who dreams big, and accomplishes big things.
Ambitious, intelligent, and resourceful Tiana dreams of one day opening her very own New Orleans restaurant. Inspired by her late father, she knows everything about cooking and running a business, but still faces enormous obstacles. She works hard, saves every penny, and is determined to overcome all trials and tribulations. She is eager to see her dream come true and is confident in her own abilities.
We haven’t watched The Princess and The Frog in years, so this was a great time to revisit the movie with my girls. They loved the story, and Naveen was especially important because my daughter’s name is Nevaeh (she thought that was pretty cool).
I love that Tiana presents a princess that is wants to be an entrepreneur and is willing to work towards that goal, rather than being born into royalty. It’s a great starting point for a discussion on goals and focus!
Toys that we played with this month included a Disney Princess Tiana Doll in a shimmering gorgeous gown, and Disney Princess Little Kingdom Fashion Change Tiana. The girls especially loved Fashion Change Tiana because they collect the princesses in this collection, and that means they can switch the dresses among them (which, when you’re 8 and 5 is pretty much the best thing ever).
