In the past eight months, our lives have changed significantly within our family unit. My husband accepted a different position and now works (mostly!) Monday to Friday. What this means is that after 8 years, we actually have our family on a normal schedule with normal weekends and evenings. It’s taken some getting used to (primarily it means I have less Grey’s Anatomy time in my evenings because he’s now home!) but overall it’s been so wonderful.
One routine that I love is Sunday morning breakfasts. My husband is the chef, and I happily sip coffee and occasionally slice strawberries! So, when given the opportunity to check out the new No Mess Waffle Maker from Breville of course I was game – one more appliance to add to our Sunday morning breakfast is fantastic, especially if it means less mess.

Of course, a moat to catch overflow is great but it still needs to make spectacular waffles to survive in our busy kitchen. Here’s what Breville had to say about that:

We put the Breville No-Mess Waffle Maker to the test in our kitchen last weekend and were happy that it performed as promised once we got the hang of it. You see, the instructions explain that a half cup of batter should be sufficient for a waffle, but our batter was unusually thick, so it overflowed beyond the moat on our first try. Whoops. After that, we knew the correct measurement of batter and we were good to go!
I liked that we could control the color and texture of the waffles (my kids don’t like them as crisp as I do) and they certainly were a treat on a dreary Sunday morning. After making waffles at home, I don’t think I could ever eat a frozen one again! If you’ve never made waffles at home, it’s worth making the switch!

My kids are hard to get to eat breakfast. Waffles are one thing they enjoy, but can be expensive to buy. This would allow them to choose what flavor the got and maybe encourage some new taste tests.
