When my first-born was a baby, not only did we get a crash course into newborns and parenthood, we also learned about sensitive skin and how to avoid flare-ups pretty quickly.
Elijah was my eczema baby and I was constantly trying to keep his skin clear, while learning all the time what would set off an eczema flair up, more often by trial and error. I learned very quickly that detergent could make a huge difference on his skin, and so I opted for unscented products. It made our laundry rather unexciting (I love scented fabric softeners and more recently Downy Unstopables) but it worked.
