I will be absent from the blog, with no posts most likely for the next week or so.
On Saturday, August 30th, my dad lost his battle with cancer. I was at his side when he passed away – for that I am blessed yet have a lot emotions to work through as well.
Today, September 1st, is my 13th wedding anniversary so I thought this photo would be an appropriate one to share. I love his proud smile here, and the fact that he’s winking to someone off camera. That’s the dad I remember.
Thank you to all of you who shared this journey with me as I’ve posted in the past about my dad’s fight.
I’ll be back in a week or so and we’ll carry on, as we do.

It is difficult to say a final goodbye to someone who meant so much to you. I lost my dad to prostate cancer and part of my heart died that day when he passed.
The happy & fond memories will help you through the grieving. He’s now an Angel in heaven to watch over you & your family.

I am sorry about your loss Tenille! I lost my mom to cancer 2 1/2 years ago and it was very painful to watch someone so virile slowly die.

I can totally relate to your loss. My father lost his battle with Alzheimers and Parkinsons on December 23 last year. Cherish your memories of your Dad, may they bring laughter to your lips and happiness to your heart.
