November on Disney Junior

Disney Junior on DemandAh, a new month.  What this means in our household, as funny as it sounds, is new On Demand programming of our favorite shows!  Am I the only mom that does this?  On the first of the month we look at my girl’s favorite shows on Disney Junior On Demand and see what new episodes have been added!  Along with that, we look ahead to programming coming up and – if possible – look ahead and schedule to record them on our PVR!  Yes, I am an organized mom when it comes to Disney Junior (because it means some sanity saving silence in our household for me, hooray!)

Belle-in-Sofia-the-First

November 10th at 11:30am ET:  Disney Junior will feature a very special new episode of Sofia the First with a guest appearance by Belle (from Beauty and the Beast)!  This episode, called “The Amulet and the Anthem” will premiere at.

Sofia’s magical amulet bestows a curse upon her after she becomes a bit too boastful about being chosen to sing the Enchancian Anthem at the Harvest Festival. Sofia gets a special visit from Princess Belle who offers her some advice.

Also – Viewers receive 25 bonus entries in Disney Junior’s Princesses & Heroes contest by catching the Bonus Code, which will appear during the special episode!  Enter it right after the premiere by clicking here (http://www.disneyjunior.ca/en/contests/princesses-and-heroes/index.php)

My girls are big fans of Sofia The First, and I am too!  My 5 year old has a Sofia The First lunch kit for school (when I saw it at the Disney Store in Chicago I had to get it!) and we have many (MANY!) episodes of Sofia The First on our PVR.  I love the life-lessons the show teaches young children, and I happen to get a kick out of Tim Gunn as Baileywick, the ever helpful royal steward.

Strawberry Shortcake on Disney JuniorSundays in November at 5:30 ET:  New episodes of Strawberry Shortcake’s Berry Bitty Adventures focuses on the delightfully quirky community of Berry Bitty City, a miniature town tucked into a strawberry patch.  It is home to Strawberry Shortcake and her six girlfriends, all nine years old and 2 inches tall.  The Strawberry Shortcake series teaches social/emotional lessons and emotional intelligence lessons on community life for young fans.  As well, the series is also “fruit forward” – existing in a world that emphasizes fruit, vegetables and healthy eating.  Colourful, whimsical fruit motifs are used in visuals and naming conventions.

New Friends and New Pets – New episodes this season introduce a new friend: a boy, named HUCKLEBERRY PIE, and a bunch of new pets!  Huckleberry takes a wrong turn and ends up stuck in Berry Bitty City with his pet adoption van filled with seven puppies.  One can imagine the hilarity that six new pups bring to Berry Bitty City!

Ironically enough, MY Kindergarten lunch kit was Strawberry Shortcake (I still have it!)

Disneys-Peter-Pan-Movie

November 23rd at 6PM ET:  Peter Pan premieres on Disney Junior!  Set your PVR to record this classic Disney movie and share it with your kids.  My Kindergarten Halloween costume?  Tinker Bell!  I’m actually sitting here giggling at how oddly all of this ties into November on Disney Junior!

Disclosure: I’m part of the Disney Junior Mom program and I receive special perks as part of my affiliation with this group. The opinions on this blog are my own.
