Skechers for Fall!

With back to school in full swing, those brand spankin new school supplies and backpacks are looking nothing like they did on the first day of school after just a few short weeks!  I’ve learned through the years where to spend my money (backpacks and shoes) and where I can save and be frugal (off-brand school supplies).

We have been Skechers-loyal these past few years for school shoes, and haven’t been disappointed yet with a pair not lasting through the entire school year due to wear.  We have had to purchase a size up in the past when the kids outgrew them before the year was over, though

So, if you’ve realized that buying a lesser quality shoe results in shoe-shopping in November let me suggest Skechers!

My five-year-old Nevaeh went to Kindergarten this fall full of confidence and ready to take on the world in her Skechers Twinkle Toes Triple-Up shoes!  The Triple-Up refers to the triple-velcro closure, which helps ensure a nice snug and comfortable fit.  Since she’s wearing these shoes indoors for classroom and gym activities I wanted to make sure they perform as awesome as they twinkle.  Just check out all these features!

  • Soft fabric shoe lining
  • Metallic texture printed design fabric
  • Three strap front closure light up casual sneaker design
  • Stitching accents
  • Contrast colored fabric toe cap
  • Twinkle Toes multicolored sequins on toe cap
  • Fun lights on toe cap and side designs
  • Lights blink with every step!
  • Metallic patterned side panels
  • Colorful side glitter and embroidery side applique designs
  • Contrast colored glitter fabric heel stripe overlay
  • Three color glitter fabric front straps
  • Three front straps are all adjustable with hook and loop closures for a perfect fit
  • SKECHERS embroidered logo on top strap
  • Soft fabric shoe lining
  • Cushioned comfort insole
  • Shock absorbing midsole
  • Vulcanized rubber midsole with textured toe bumper and contrast stripe
  • Flexible rubber traction outsole
  • NOTE: Toddler sizes of this shoe have two straps and light up at the toe area only

Nevaeh loves her shoes (as does her toddler sister who received her own Twinkle Toes as well, so she was included in the back to school fun!) and happily wears them at school every day.  I did check with her teacher after the first week to ask if the Twinkle Toes were distracting in class and she said they weren’t a problem.  The lights blink with steps so general movement sitting at story-time isn’t an issue, for example.

Elijah wears his Skechers Air-Mazing Kid Aeroflex – Aversion shoes and finally, finally in grade four he has accepted that he must wear lace-up shoes!  We love the bright colors on these shoes, and he likes how easy they are to slip on and off and how light they are to wear (in contrast, we found last year’s Mega Flex heavy in comparison).  Features of the Air-Mazing Kid Aeroflex include:

  • Smooth matte or metallic leather upper
  • Synthetic overlays
  • Mesh fabric front, side and tongue panels for cooling effect
  • Lace up sporty athletic training sneaker design
  • Stitching accents
  • Unique synthetic zigzag overlay side panels with color accents
  • Side S logo
  • Toe and heel printed stripe designs
  • Air Tricks logo detail
  • Lace up front
  • Padded collar and tongue
  • Soft fabric shoe lining
  • Cushioned comfort insole
  • Shock absorbing supportive contrast colored midsole
  • Air-Mazing Kid stabilized midsole with geometric cutout detail on sides
  • Flexible rubber high traction outsole

We’re set for fall (and hopefully all winter baring any unforeseen growth spurts) with our Skechers shoes!  Looking for Skechers for your kids?  Use the Store Locator to find a Skechers location in Canada and take a look at all the styles available at Skechers online.
