Life is Better When The Cleaning’s EASY

easy-off-bottleWhat are your least favorite household cleaning chores?  Would it surprise you to know that I’d rather clean my toilet than my oven?  I’m serious!  This is one of those things that shows me my  husband was meant for me – he hates cleaning the bathroom and I despise cleaning the oven!  My husband’s a bit of an oven cleaning master thanks in part to his mom giving him a very stern (and brilliant) punishment as a teenager.  Missed curfew?  Have fun cleaning the oven with just water and a rag, son.  I love that woman!

Still, as much as we may despise our cleaning chores, they need to be done.  For oven cleaning, both of us agree this is not an area where you cheap-out on product or try an au natural cleaning solution. Our oven is used daily and if an oven clean goes wrong and doesn’t get completed on time, dinnertime uproar will ensue!

We use Easy-Off, because it has 5x more grease-cutting power than the leading all-purpose cleaner and if you’ve seen some of my delicious comfort-food recipes you know that I don’t cut corners!  My recipes will bubble over, bake on on the oven, and sometimes cause a mess but they’ll also fill your tummy and satisfy.

Take the good with the bad right? As long as you’re using a good cleaner, the cleaning should be as easy as the eating!  We use the Heavy Duty formula, but if you have a self-cleaning oven you can also try the Fume Free version.

With three kids and a husband that works shift-work, my time is valuable and worse than spending time cleaning an oven is re-cleaning it because the job wasn’t done right the first time.  Don’t chance it with a brand you’re unsure of – I’ve made the mistake of thinking my oven was clean only to have residue show up when the oven heated up on the next use!  Lesson learned, go with a brand you know and trust and get the job done right the first time.  Easy solutions are my favorite!
