BOB Motion Stroller

BOB Motion stroller reviewI was thrilled when I was recently asked to review the BOB Motion Stroller.

You see, I’ve been lusting after a BOB stroller for a few years now. Facebook is great for product recommendations from friends and seeing how much some of my friends across the country loved their BOB strollers I was definitely interested in finding out why.

The BOB Motion stroller is marketed as “ideal for your family’s daily activities” and as a compliment to your BOB jogging stroller, so it’s noted right away that this isn’t a stroller for jogging activities – which let’s be honest here – works perfectly well for me and my activities!

Since the sidewalks here are buried in snow in February, we took our new BOB Motion stroller with us on a family shopping trip to the city.

BOB Motion stroller reviewThe most noticeable feature of the BOB Motion stroller right from the start is how easy it is to fold and unfold.  You only need one hand which is perfect for busy parents who typically have baby in the other!  I was debating what stroller to take with me next month on a flight with just my toddler and myself and the BOB Motion stroller won me over for this reason.  I won’t be struggling on the jetway trying to fold the stroller which is definitely one less thing to worry about when traveling.

The padded seat (with fabric available in either orange, navy, or black) is adjustable, as is the sun-canopy which of course are both standard for strollers.  The basket below is a good size and easy to access (some strollers have nice sized baskets but are so difficult to get items into that it’s pointless!) and the foot-activated parking break is easy to manipulate.

BOB Motion stroller reviewMaybe I was expecting less because the BOB website mentioned this as a compliment to your jogging stroller, but I was really impressed with how well the BOB Motion rode on surfaces we encountered.  Granted, we were in a mall, box stores, and parking lots but the stroller handled well and I’d have no issues using this stroller in the spring and summer on roads and sidewalks in our area.

The tires (Rear 10″ x 1.75″, Front 7″ x 1.75″) are “pneumatic tires mounted on high impact polymer composite wheels with tubes” which means that they’re made of rubber, not plastic, and therefore much more durable on all surfaces.  The front wheels swivel but can be locked if you’re on a surface that requires a more sturdy ride.

Though we didn’t use them, it’s worth mentioning that this stroller comes with CLICK & GO adapters which makes it easy to convert the BOB Motion into a complete travel system for itty bitty babies with a matching BOB B-SAFE Infant Car Seats or any Britax infant car seat.

It’s also compatible with other major infant car seat brands when used with a Britax infant car seat adapter (sold separately).

The stroller retails for $349.99 US and $379.99 CDN.  Use the Where to Buy link on the BOB website to find a retailer that carries BOB strollers near you!
