I hope all my Canadian readers had a safe and happy Thanksgiving weekend! We spent the majority of our weekend at home as a cozy family of 5 and then had a turkey dinner with friends on Monday.
On Monday morning, since it was an official holiday, we made a huge brunch. My son proclaimed it the best breakfast he’s ever had but I take that with a grain of salt. After all, he’s eight.
Still, our breakfast have been pretty award-worthy lately thanks to the snazzy Flip Waffle Maker we received from Hamilton Beach. Up until recently, I have only made frozen waffles at home in the toaster.
Did you know that waffles are not supposed to be crunchy and thin?
They’re actually supposed to be light, fluffy, and delicious! The first day we used the Flip Waffle Maker, I knew I was in trouble – the waffles we made in them, using regular pancake/waffle batter, were 100x better than the frozen variety we had become accustomed to.
The Flip Waffle Maker takes traditional waffle making to the next level – instead of simply pouring batter on the grids and closing the lid, this appliance allows you to flip the waffle as it cooks ensuring it’s light, fluffy and perfectly cooked on all sides.
There’s even a tray below to catch excess batter that falls out as you flip (and it will) and clean-up is a breeze with the removable grids that are dishwasher safe.
I can’t go back to frozen waffles now – tasting fresh made waffles made at home has changed the game for me! If I could make one change to this product, I’d make it a double-flipper, so it could make two waffles at once. It’s hard to wait for waffle goodness making them one at a time!
