Tanda Me Elos Professional Hair Removal System (summer’s coming ladies…)

You’ve seen the commercials – some of them are downright hilarious the way some companies try and sell hair-removal products to women. I sit there thinking, “who wrote this ad?”  It’s hard to know what to believe – what really works – and what you shouldn’t bother wasting your money on.

So – when I was given the opportunity to review the Tanda Me Elos Professional Hair Removal System, I looked into it a bit before I committed to it.  I didn’t want some waxing system that was going to cause me pain in the name of a fair review.  Sorry ladies, I love you and all but there’s only so much I’ll do in the name of a review!

elōs is the first and only technology that combines the power of both IPL (Intense Pulse Light) and RF (radio frequency energy). Developed by IPL inventor and patent holder Dr. Shimon Eckhouse, this revolutionary technology effectively overcomes the safety and procedural limitations of laser and IPL devices.

mē is the first and only at-home hair removal system that uses professional elōs technology, leveraging on 10 years of proven clinical results.

nstead of devising a new technique, the scientists and doctors behind mē decided to create an intuitive, easy to use device that uses a familiar action. Just glide mē over your skin like you would a shaver and let the flashing elōs energy take care of the rest.

There is no magic behind mē. Our labs have defined a precise treatment regimen based on multiple clinical studies. Follow the protocol and watch your hair disappear from treatment to treatment!

Yup, flashing elos energy. Not laser, but not a razer either (I almost wrote a jingle there!) After I read it was painless, I decided it was worth a shot to check this out. After all, who wouldn’t want to reduce hair on your body before it even grows. Stop it in it’s tracks. Yup, that tempted me!

Tanda Me Elos combines IPL (intense pulse light) and RF (radio frequency) to destroy the hair follicle.  No follicle, no hair.  One would think something like this would be painful, and traditional clinical (think laser hair removal) processes are painful.  This process is pain free (I felt some warmth but that’s it) and after 4 uses, I can say that it actually does work!  Am I a hairless supermodel with sleek skin with not a hair in site?  No (ha!) but I certainly can see a big difference in the amount that grows back and can only speculate that if I continue to use this every 2 weeks as recommended, it’s only going to increase the results I’m already seeing.

The unit itself is sleek and well packaged with an instruction book full of photos and a DVD to help explain the process further.  I recommend reviewing both so you understand the process and safety precautions – nothing big here ladies just things like making sure you only glide the Tanda Me Elos over a spot for a certain amount of time (different for each area) and making sure not to look directly at the pulsating light.

The first time I used this unit I was hella nervous.  Flashing light?  Heat emitting?  This is something you need to do when you have that precious alone time (rare, I know).  No distractions, no kids banging on the door.  Simply prepare your skin (there’s recommendations in the booklet) and give yourself the time and space needed to do a treatment.  I did my arms, legs and bikini line (I was too chicken to do my underarms for some reason) and it didn’t take any time at all.  Actually, the first time I used it I excitedly called my husband into the room with a breathless, “Check. This. Out!”

You can use the Tanda Me Elos every 2 weeks but being a busy mom, I’d sometimes go longer than that.  So, if you want to  stay on a schedule so you can see some great results 6 week period, put a reminder in your phone!

The Tanda Me Elos is available at The Bay, Shoppers Drug Mart, on the Shopping Channel and online at TryTandaMe.com.  The product retails for $395.00 so it’s an investment more than a cheap-o product that will be tossed aside.  I know myself that when I invest in something like this, I’m more likely to be dedicated to using it and monitoring the results.  Investment, ladies!

  • Oh!!! HAir removal. As you get older you get these stupid thick pieces of hair that grow on your chin…yuck

  • Hi there, I’ve been considering buying this device and have been trying to gather information on it when I came across your blog. I was wondering if I could ask you a few questions:
What are your results like after this long? How many treatments have you done? Have you ever had IPL treatments in a salon and if so, how do they compare to the home version? Also, how often do you have to change the cartridge?
    Thank you!
