My Fabulous Life

Then there was that time I saw a meteor…

Saskatchewan Twitter users took to the social media site last night to compare notes and see if what they saw was seen by anyone else!  Apparently a meteor landed somewhere near North Battleford last night!

It was around 9:30 last night, and I was sitting on the couch, laptop open (my extra appendage) and saw a flash across from me outside my patio door.

At the time, I thought nothing of it, since it was February and not July and couldn’t have been an easily explainable lightening flash.  In fact, I brushed it off completely thinking that I probably caught a reflection from the kitchen lighting.  At the same time, I also felt a loud rumble that made my living room wall shake.  I also brushed this off, thinking it was my neighbors with a very large truck next door.

Funny how we ignore our atmosphere when we don’t realize what’s happening.

Within minutes, Facebook friends started asking, “Did you see that?” and another mentioned feeling a shake.

I took to Twitter to ask if anyone else saw it.

Thankfully, I wasn’t alone – though many people from Calgary to Saskatoon saw a flash of light like I did, not many mentioned the boom.  Was that completely unrelated or, being in North Battleford where experts are guessing the meteor landed, did I feel the impact of it too?

    Harry “Well whats the temperature?”
    Me “Minus 2”
Harry “It might have been, there are rare occurances of lightning in the winter, but fairly rare.”
    Me “Im freaked out”
