There’s something about the holidays that bring me into The Body Shop! It could be the multitude of holiday scents and products that are released for a short time only, and likely has something to do with the perfectly sized and priced gift packs that are always available at this time of the year. Years ago when I spent my days working in a mall, the store I worked at was right across from The Body Shop so I spent way more time in there than I should have! I don’t get there as often as I’d like now (the closest location to me is an hour away) but when I do, I make up for lost time (heh.)

I love almost anything vanilla and I’m a big fan of the Spiced Vanilla collection from The Body Shop that’s available during the holiday season. Described as a blend of aromatic spices and oriental flowers, this scent reminds me of winter more than just the holidays which is good because that means I can wear it for longer! The various products in this line include ingredients like Community Fair Trade Honey, Cocoa and Shea Butter, Soy Oil and more. For gift giving ideas I’d suggest the Body Butter ($18), Body Scrub ($18) and Lip Balm ($6).

If you have not tried anything from the Cranberry Joy collection at The Body Shop, you don’t know what you’re missing! The scent of these products can actually bring about a reaction in my jaw – you know that twinge you get when you taste something super-sour? That’s it! The burst of cranberry smells like you’ve got them right in front of you. This product line is very Christmas specific to me, though you could still use it through the winter months (if you have any left, that is!) My favorites from the Cranberry Joy line include the Reed Diffuser ($15), Shimmer Lotion ($12) and Scented Candle ($16).

One collection that I had never tried before is the Candied Ginger Collection. I now have the Bath & Shower Gel ($8) in my shower and have been using it daily for the past few weeks. The scent is definitely festive and reminds me of a ginger scent from a popular home sales company but at 1/4 the price. My favorites from this line include the Bath & Shower Gel and the Sugar Scrub ($18).

Aside from the delicious smelling holiday scents, The Body Shop is of course full of other great holiday gift giving ideas (and when gift giving I suggest to remember yourself as well!)
Do you know what White Musk from The Body Shop smells like? If you’ve ever been IN The Body Shop you likely do, because it’s been around since 1981! This year, they’ve come up with a new, modern twist on an old favorite. White Musk Libertine is described as “Sweet Turkish delight and Chantilly Cream notes open with an audacious tease of playfulness, hinting at the addictiveness to come, while the Orchid bursts with femininity. Musk intensifies at the base, rounding up to inner strength and solidity for a mysterious veil of confidence and sensuality; an aura which a libertine possesses naturally, even when the future is uncertain.” Check it out in stores the next time you’re in – I think it holds true to the original White Musk scent with a hint of something new – intriguing!
I haven’t had much experience with make-up from The Body Shop, but they have a huge collection in stores now and are popular for a reason – great prices keep customers coming back. The 4-Step Smoky Eyes collection above is $28 (quick it’s 30% off this price until 11/20!) and comes with step by step instructions which is exactly what I need when it comes to make-up!
Stop by The Body Shop when out holiday shopping or if you’re like me and avoid the crowds, you can shop online at TheBodyShop.ca and stay cozy warm while checking off that holiday list!

My tip to reduce holiday stress is to shop year round if you can. I pick up little gifts throughout the year when they are on sale. It’s easier on my wallet, and I don’t need to go to the mall much during the holidays.
