Parents, if you have an inquisitive little one like I do – sometimes too smart for his own good but often asking my husband and I questions we don’t have answers for – you will love love love this fascinating and fun read from Time for Kids (yes, from Time Home Entertainment Inc.!)
Elijah is turning 7 in a few weeks and loves his library days at school. At the beginning of grade one he brought him the basic books you’d expect from a first grader – books on dinosaurs, snakes and other animals. Lately, he has been captivated by books sharing “how” or “why” – how structures are built, why bad weather happens and more. So, when I was asked if we’d like to check out this book I knew Elijah would enjoy it, I just didn’t expect how much!
Currently, this is his favorite book. He takes it with him throughout the house – reading it in the morning before school in the warmth of the sun coming in through the patio doors (I say he’s part-cat, the way he enjoys the sunlight) or in bed at night before lights-out. The book is divided into sections covering everything from the human body, weather, food, animals and more. Elijah will often tell me about something he just read, asking me if I knew that myself. It’s great when your 7 year old can teach you something too!
