Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat

When it came time to start looking for a primary infant carrier for baby #3, I knew from previous experience with my other kids what I did not want. I knew that testing a carrier in the store by lifting it and walking with it is important. Why? Because although they look cute, many carriers are not only unbelievably heavy (not forgetting that you’re carrying your baby in it until they reach 30 lbs!) but also are really really awkward to carry because of their shape or design.

My husband and I visited Toys R Us and tested out a few seats, and then I went online and compared all the safety features of my favorites to determine which one would be our top choice. The Britax Chaperone Infant Car Seat became my “must have” infant car seat. Thankfully, the wonderful people at Britax were happy to send me my own Chaperone Infant Car Seat to try out and use with my Britax B Ready Stroller (check out my B Ready Stroller Review!)

Above are a few of the product features of the Britax Chaperone that helped convince me this was the seat for us. The Anti-Rebound Bar is something I’ve never seen before, and I thought that was a really good idea. Parents will also appreciate the No-Rethread Harness, especially those like me who have had a previous car seat where you had to essentially take it apart to rethread the harness as the baby grows. Comparing how cushioned and safe my newborn looks in the Britax Chaperone to how my first born looked in his car seat is a little unsettling – the Britax wins hands down for safety and peace of mind for parents.

Unfortunately, due to my c-section I can’t lift anything more than 10 lbs (the baby basically) for another 3 weeks so my husband has been the one toting our little princess in and out of the car in it. He says, however, that it’s easy to snap into place and easy to carry with her in it so I’ll take his word for it. Soon, we’re going to get out with the stroller more and I’m thrilled with how easy this seat snaps into place in the B-Ready Stroller as well.
