All the cute animals above are actually humidifiers from Crane! When we spotted these cute guys at Toys R Us, I commented on what a great idea these are for kids rooms. Little did I know, a few weeks later when I received my own Crane Adorable Animal Humidifier to review that it would be so needed in our household.
In the course of a week myself and the two kids all came down with a miserable head-cold but until now, we only had one humidifier, always kept in the kid’s room. Now, being pregnant and unable to take any medication to help my poor sinuses, I was in desperate need of a humidifier but so were my kids. What’s a mom to do?
Thankfully, now that I had the Crane Humidifier, I was able to take the grown-up one to my room and the kids now have their very own. All of us were feeling better within a day or two after using our humidifiers, but I have to say after seeing the cold-mist output from the kid’s humidifier, I think I might like theirs more!
Cute, right? The humidifier itself is very quiet and has an auto-shut off when it’s empty which is a feature I really like. I’m always paranoid our humidifier is going to run out of water and it will get wrecked running on empty. Something to note, the water in the basin must be changed every 24 hours to ensure it’s kept clean and bacteria free. Why cool mist?
Ultrasonic Cool Mist Humidifiers produces cool mist. A cool mist is generated by a thin film of water is passed over a rapidly vibrating transducer. The vibration breaks the water up into tiny droplets and propels them out into the air, increasing the humidity level with very little noise. Many health professional suggest that cool mist usually makes breathing easier for asthma and allergies.
Since my son has asthma, we use cold water humidifiers exclusively. The humidifier packs away easily when not in use (again, make sure you clean it thoroughly before packing away so it’s ready to go the next time you use it) and little kids are not intimidated by this “machine” in their room because it looks like any other children’s room item.
