Are you a mama with artistic flair that cringes at the idea of vinyl wall stickers for your kid’s rooms? Does the idea of a wall mural make your heart pitter patter? I remember when I was pregnant with my first, checking out a business where I lived at the time that offered custom painted wall murals for an extravagant price. It’s a good thing I didn’t let my first-born-everything-must-be-perfect mama brain take over and shell out the money because not only is a mural something that anyone (yes really) can do, but we ended up moving before Elijah turned 2.
My Wonderful Walls has a great selection of wall stencil kits that make it easy to paint beautiful, intricate, murals on walls without having to be a creative artist! The way you lay out the scene is completely up to you – follow the ideas/images on the site or create your own scene, or several scenes, to make it your own.
I was sent the Flower Garden Theme Wall Stencil Kit, though this is a project that will have to wait until after the baby is born so I can decide where this design will be (the kid’s bedroom will need to be changed up I’m sure). In the meantime, I’ve been able to check out the stencils and see just how many are in the set and how varied the sizes are. There are limitless possibilities with this set, and I also like that the stencils are reusable so you can lend a few or all of them to a friend as well.
If I have another boy, I would be very tempted to get this Dinosaur Wall Mural Stencil Kit for the bedroom or playroom! At under $100 for each set, these wall mural stencil kits are a great way to really personalize a room and truly make it special for kids (I could also see these murals being used in doctor’s offices, schools, etc.) The best thing? If you move often like we do, due to hubby’s work, you don’t have to leave behind a beautiful bedroom scene (you just have to create it all over again in the new house, ha!)
