When I was pregnant with Elijah, I was so excited to start wearing maternity clothes but was not expecting the sticker-shock I got when shopping for them! I purchased a few basics in the city I lived in, got a friend (guest writer Carissa, actually) to send me maternity clothes she found at Old Navy (my store still doesn’t carry maternity) and then took to eBay to start finding some great outfits at reasonable prices.
I found several great outfits and was so excited to finally get a deal – except of course for the shipping (in most cases I ordered from US sellers).
Still, it was an easier way to build a maternity wardrobe and saved frugal-me some cash! I wore one of my eBay finds for my maternity pictures in 2004. Hey, how do you like me with dark hair?!
Second Peek Maternity Boutique is based in Toronto but can ship items across Canada for very reasonable rates ($15.00 to Western Canada, $9.00 within Ontario and of course local pickup within the GTA). I recently tried selling a ton of maternity clothes that I know I’ll never wear again (no, not all of them, just the ones I’d never wear again IF we had another baby).
